Funding
Health Care Contracts
Healthcare contracts help support and enable access to medical and social services for farmworker families throughout North Carolina.
Applications for funding are accepted annually.
Interested applicants can learn about our funding process online and should contact the office
to inform staff of their intent to submit a proposal at (919) 733-2040.
Note:
The North Carolina Farmworker Health Program (NCFHP) provides funding to increase access to primary, preventive, and specialty care services for North Carolina's farmworker population. Funds are used to complement existing healthcare resources and are available either through healthcare contracts, dental contracts, and/or fee-for-service reimbursement.
Funds are meant to enhance or expand
existing services; making services more comprehensive, continuous, and accessible for migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families.
NCFHP's funding process is very competitive. Request for Proposals (RFPs) are sent out each year inviting health departments, rural health centers, community health centers, hospitals, free clinics, and other health organizations to submit a proposal outlining their plan for service delivery to farmworkers and their dependents in their area.
Funds are limited and there are no guarantees for funding. Priority is given to sites that have a high concentration of farmworkers in their area (over 1000) and demonstrate a need for additional services. Sites with less than 1000 farmworkers in their service area may still apply, but there should be sufficient evidence of need in the area.
